vadem&cum – a guide to contemporary migrations.
It's a free-self-publishing project that wants to explain the phenomenon of human migration, with an overall view on: the data, statistics and official reports, the actual situation of the coutries of origin, the stories of the journey, the problems of burocracy and some social design proposals for a better integration between migrants and locals. www.guidavademecum.it

Vadem&cum is a handbook for understanding the contemporary human migrations. Five 32-page books, designed for be printed at home, are free to be read and downloaded at www.guidavademecum.it.

Vadem&cum is the perfect naming for this project: it express what it is and its purpose: inspired by the latin origin of the word, I have exalted the meaning of “accompaniment” by using the ampersand (&co).

The main color is the blue, used both for texts and infographics. For each book it has been decided a second color for the cover and the chapters' titles. I have choosen a light yellow as background because together with the blue make seem this topic more "friendly” and easy to understand.

The handbooks are designed for being printed at home: they are already in A5 size, set for the print on 8 A4 sheets (duplex) and the fold in the right order.

Vadem&cum is a project born from my Bachelor Degree Thesis in Design and Visual Communication and it has been selected by the Aiap Women in Design Award 2017
